I had the privilege of photographing this beautiful young lady last night in downtown Columbus.  At the start of our session, she told me that she was not a picture person and that she was a little nervous about having her photos taken.  Whatever.  She was a total natural in front of the lens and very fun to shoot and despite a downpour and lots of traffic we got some great photos of her.  Thanks again Ashley it was great to meet you and I hope you enjoy your preview!

portraits | emily & ben of the williams duo

I had the opportunity this evening to photograph an extremely talented couple down at OSU. Emily actually went to the same small Christian university for her undergrad as my husband I did and we even graduated the same year, but she and I had never actually met while at school.  After we moved to Columbus in November, I met her and Ben through my husband and we decided to do a little networking since we’re both wedding vendors.  Emily currently performs as a violinist in the Richmond Symphony Orchestra and teaches violin lessons, and Ben is pursuing his doctorate in piano at OSU and plans to teach once he’s finished.  In addition to their busy schedule with school, performing and teaching they also run their own business, The Williams Duo, offering violin, piano, and organ music for events such as weddings, parties, etc. So if you are looking for a fantastic musical duo for your next function, please check them out!

And……..here come the photos!  Just a few of my favorites from their session:

wedding | brittany & jeremy

I just have to say right off the bat that I just LOVE the color scheme that Brittany chose for her and Jeremy’s wedding, orange and pink are just so fun and just totally fit them.  Brittany works in a florist shop and she said her inspiration for the colors came from a tiny orange spray rose that has beautiful streaks of pink in the petals.  Needless to say, the flowers she chose for the wedding were meaningful to her and  were an  important part of her and Jeremy’s day.   The two of them were married yesterday afternoon in the beautiful McKinley Presbyterian church near the U of I campus in a small, intimate ceremony and it was just a beautiful affirmation of their love for one another.

Once again I had the privilege of having Kara Guffey along as my second/co-photographer, she is just awesome to collaborate and work with.  She has such a wonderful natural style, and if any of ya’ll are in southern Indiana/Louisville area you should definitely check her out next time you need a photographer.  Thanks again, friend, for all your help.  I really appreciate it and you!

Here are just a few of my favorite images from the day.  Thank you again Brittany and Jeremy for having me as your photographer and for including me in your special day!
